Coffee Break!

My mid-morning coffee and pastry break. The new February issue of SELF arrived in the offices this week, so I sat down at my desk to take a coffee break and read it (hey, it’s Friday!). For me, coffee and pastries go hand-in-hand (do you feel the same?). But instead of grabbing the Starbucks blueberry muffin during my coffee run, I opened a box of new Fiber One Muffins I received yesterday. It turned out to be a seriously healthy swap. One of these treats has 150 less calories, 7 less grams of fat and 7 more grams of fiber than the Starbucks muffin! Sure it’s smaller (A Starbucks muffin weighs 120 grams, while this one only weighs 65 grams) but I appreciate the portion control because when was the last time you ate just half a muffin?

Look for the muffins in your grocery store starting this month, the magazine on your newsstand or in your mailbox any day now and your Starbucks, well, every other corner!
